New frame stickers
hey hey, new stickers for the frames, these are made of vinil which means they have only letters and logo with no tranparent part. We still have the other version so you can chose your favorite.
hey hey, novos autocolantes do quadro, estes são de vinil o que significa que só tem as letras e o logo e não tem parte transparente. Temos a outra versão na mesma para poderes escolher a preferida.
Chainstay brake (part 2)
As promised a while ago, here is a photo of the brake with 25t sprocket and 9t driver. It took a while to put this online because all of us were using 28t/10t and I use a heavier gear 28t/9t, but now Jean is using 25t/9t and you can see that there’s alot of space between the chain and the brake. Hope this solves your questions about the chain hitting the brake with 25t/9t.
Como prometido a um tempo atrás, está aqui uma foto do travão com cremalheira de 25d e carreto de 9d. Demorou um bocado a por isto online porque todos estávamos a usar 28/10 e eu uso uma relação mais pesada 28/9, mas agora o Jean está a usar 25/9 e como podem ver tem muito espaço entre a correte e o travão. Espero que isto esclareça as vossas duvidas em relação á corrente tocar no travão com 25/9.
Chainstay brake (Travão em baixo)
Lately I’ve been ask a lot about the brake in the chainstay tubes, the doubt is if the chain hits the brake with 25t sprocket? the answer is no, it is prepared to use 25t sprocket, 9t driver. If you ride brakless you can use 23t, 8t driver but 8t drivers are not very common.
The reason for it is that it gives a cleaner/lighter look to the bike leaving the top tubes clear with the brake bellow the chain and brakless you have the mounts hiden to.
So don’t worry about the chain hitting the brake because it works fine.

Ultimamente têm-me perguntado com frequência sobre o travão em baixo, a dúvida é se a corrente toca no travão com cremalheira de 25d? a resposta é não, o quadro está preparado para usar a relação 25/9. Sem travão pode-se usar 23/8 mas cubo de 8 não é muito comum.
A razão do travão em baixo é que dá uma visão mais leve/limpa da bike deixando os tubos de cima livres com o travão debaixo da corrente e sem travão também fica melhor com os pins escondidos.
Por isso não se preocupem com a corrente bater no travão porque funciona perfeitamente.
Mais tarde vou por aqui umas fotos sobre isto.
Purple and White frames
The Frame in Purple and White arrived this week, already available Online and in the shops.
The Frame em Roxo e Branco chegaram esta semana, já estão disponiveis Online e nas lojas.
New Fork top cap
This new fork cap is more simple, low profile with concave top and 8mm allen key insted of 6mm that often get round with use and don’t work anymore. It has a mark on the thread for easy cutting if necessary.
Esta nova tampa do garfo é mais simples, baixo perfil tem o topo côncavo e chave de 8mm em vez de 6mm que vão ficando redondas com o uso e não apertam bem. Trás uma marca no meio da rosca para facilitar o corte se necessário.
Velvet bike parts
What about a velvet bar… not realy velvet it’s called Flok, it was made by our friend Jean we will try to do do this to all the parts and maybe have a complete SUGAR Velvet bike.
E que tal um guiador de veludo… não é realmente veludo chama-se Flok, isto foi feito pelo o nosso amigo Jean, vamos tentar fazer isto a todas as peças e talvez montar uma bike completa da SUGAR em Veludo.
New frame colors coming in March 2009
Just recieved some photos of the new frame colors white and purple. They will be here on March, check it out they look very good.
Acabamos de receber fotos dos novas cores dos quadros branco e roxo. Estes quadros chegam em Março, vejam ai ficaram muito bons.
SugarBikes in the race tracks with “Nelito”
Nelito is the current National race champion in the veterans class and this year will run with the support of Sugar.
Here are a few words from him about the handlebars.
“After a conversation with my friend David in what we where exchanging some views on the Sugar products , I told him that the handlebars really fit in a race bike!! then he asked me to try it on the tracks. Of course I accepted immediately not only the opportunity but also to be inserted in a fun Team and to promote a product that I admire very much.
Right on the first lap I felt some differences. What I noted more was without doubt the comfortable driving in acceleration. I liked the security it gave in the turns both at the more pronounced turns as the time to shoot again the acceleration at the end of the curve. As far as in the startgate or jumping it is very similar to my old bar where I feel quite well … all this with 700 gr of handlebars that is without the slightest doubt the lightest bar I rode until today, and that makes all the difference in control from start and jump. After all it was with great pleasure that I accepted the invitation to run the next season with the support of Sugar. Thanks David! ” (Nelito)
Nelito é o actual campeão Nacional de race na classe veteranos e este ano vai correr com o apoio da Sugar.
Ficam aqui umas palavras dele sobre o guiador.
“Depois de uma conversa com o meu amigo David em que estava a trocar algumas impressões sobre os produtos da Sugar, comentei com ele que o guiador se enquadrava muito bem numa bike de race!! Foi então que surgiu a proposta da Sugar para eu o experimentar. È claro que aceitei logo nao só pela oportunidade mas também por estar inserido num Team divertido assim como de promover um produto que me agradava muito.
Depois das primeiras voltas pela pista deu logo para sentir algumas diferenças. A que me realçou mais foi sem duvida o conforto de condução em aceleração. A curvar gostei da forma como se nota uma boa segurança tanto no momento do curvar mais acentuado como no momento de disparar novamente a aceleraçao na parte final da curva. Tanto a fazer start (partidas com gate) como nos saltos achei-o muito equiparado ao meu antigo onde me sinto bastante bem… isto tudo com 700 gramas de guiador sem duvida o mais leve que tive até hoje, e isso faz toda a diferença nos arranques e controle de salto. Depois de tudo isto foi com muito gosto que aceitei o convite parar correr a próxima época com o apoio da Sugar. Thanks David!!” (Nelito)
Frame Update
Brake holes at the seat tube will be eliminated, we tried it several times but it’s to hard to make the brake work good, so it will work the normal way with the removable tabs. Welding at the seat post clamp will also be eliminated it gives a better look to the frame.
Furos de travão no tubo do banco vão ser eliminados, tentamos várias vezes mas é muito dificil de afinar o travão, por isso vai funcionar normalmente com os tabs removiveis. Soldadura na braçadeira do banco vai sair também dá um melhor aspecto ao quadro.
